Garage sales fuel hobby to culture clash on East Tate Street
Residents including Eugene and Dorothy Griffin browse items from tables and lines along East Tate Street in Brownfield. Shoppers seek everything from children's clothes to a rare butterfly pin worth thousands, while hosts like Gloria McNabb monetize junk. Early birds arrive before eight, carts fill, and garage sale culture thrives.

Council Eyes Budget and Task Force Shift in Levelland
The council discusses budget matters and notes the Lubbock Police Department has withdrawn as grant grantee raising questions about management of a $15,500 grant. Sheriff Gutierrez proposes Lubbock County take over with four officers removed and a Levelland meeting planned to reach understanding. If unable, Terry and nearby counties may form their own task force. Street paving funds, $9,600, for Oak Grove and Brownfield High School areas are approved with labor by Terry County employees.
