City Council Sets Tax Rate Above Effective Rate
The council approved two public hearings as part of the budget process and discussed the 2005-2006 budget. The rate of 49.0030 cents would raise about $11,000 more than last year, while the effective rate remains 48.2631 cents. The bottom line for 2005-2006 is $15,213,526, a slight decrease from $15,300,652 due to fewer capital needs.
