Sixth installment honors Terry County pioneers the Herrings
Mitch Word profiles Olan and Alta Herring in the sixth part of a seven series honoring Terry County pioneers. The Terry County Pioneer Association will host the 35th Old Settlers Reunion August 26 at the American Legion Hall. The Herrings, long residents near Brownfield, reflect on farm life, marriage in 1933, and community travel by car as a rural lifeline during hard years.
