Kids and Diet Habits Surveyed Find Mixed Attitudes
A Gallup telephone study of 410 children ages 9 to 13 shows over half believe balanced diet and activity are vital, with 49 percent eating breakfast with family daily and 13 percent once a week or less. Most recognize the Food Guide Pyramid, yet many dislike health labels and suspect all fat foods are bad.

Bayer Family Holds 22nd Annual Reunion
Descendants of Emil and Agnes Bayer held their 22nd annual reunion at Terry County Park August 10 to 12 with 22 attendees including Alice Cook of Abernathy the oldest, Albert Childers of El Paso the oldest spouse, and four year old Eadie Poage of Midland as youngest. Philip Wilbanks and Jo Wilbanks of Floydada were the recently married couple. Attendees came from Brownfield El Paso San Antonio Schulenburg Midland Lubbock Longview Abernathy Floydada and Brownwood. Next year’s gathering is planned for June 27 to 29 at Terry County Park.

Hernandez announces birth of BreAnna Paige Hernandez
Juanita and David Hernandez of Brownfield announce the birth of a daughter BreAnna Paige at 9 38 a m on August 11 at Brownfield Regional Medical Center. The baby weighed 5 pounds 15.6 ounces and measured 18 1/2 inches. She has a sister Jamality age seven and a brother Christopher age two. Grandparents are Al and Celia Hernandez and David and Hilda Hernandez of Brownfield.
