Brownfield to Hold Public Hearings on Community Development Program
The City of Brownfield announces two public hearings for the Texas Community Development Program. Meeting 1 on August 16 at 7:00 p.m. and Meeting 2 on August 18 at 8:30 a.m. at City Hall. Citizens, especially low and moderate income, are urged to attend and share views and proposals.

Dawson County Banks Post Record Mid Year Deposits
Mid year totals show Lamesa banks with 232.8 million in deposits as of June 30 while loan levels fell 24.6 million from year end and 16 million from a year ago, leaving loans at 84.1 million. A new family practice physician, Dr Jose Rodriquez, will join Medical Arts in Lamesa starting Monday after TX Tech intern work in El Paso. Construction on a Seminole shopping center along US 385 began mid July, with a Thriftway store planned as the anchor. completion for the building is targeted for November 1, 1983.
