West Texas Children's Centre shows steady progress and growth
WTCC in Brownfield, led by Roy Wooten, moved to East Bynum two and a half months ago and now hosts 13 youths in Emergency Shelter with plans for two additional licensed programs. Licenses for Residential Treatment Center and Independent Living are expected by mid August, expanding capacity to 34 beds. Texas Terry County votes on homestead exemption amendment
Early voting ended Tuesday at the Terry County Clerk's office for Saturdays constitutional amendment election. 308 ballots cast. The measure increases residence homestead exemption by 10000 and allows transfer of tax limitation to another qualified homestead for seniors over 65. Four voting sites open 7 am to 7 pm.

A Brownfield School System veteran, he began in 1954 and retired in 1992 after four decades as teacher, coach and counselor. Now, he keeps active, helps neighbors with yards, paints, operating church sound, and mentors youth while cherishing family and a 1993 Israel trip.
