Hospital District Election Set for Terry County Saturday

Terry County voters will open 17 boxes at 8 a.m. for a county hospital district election to decide forming a district that would be governed by a seven member board and financed by local taxes. The measure aims to improve facilities, prevent district absorption by Lubbock, and fund operations with 20-25 cent tax per hundred, staying within district control.

Trustees Announce Brownfield School Personnel Moves

National Round-Up Meet Hosted by Terry County Posse

The Terry County Sheriff s Posse and Riding Club will host a three day national spring round up of the American Association of Sheriffs Posses and Riding Clubs. Registration starts Thursday 4 p m with events Friday Saturday and Sunday featuring parades games rides and a Pony Express Race. Tourism Short Course Planned by Brownfield Chamber

The Brownfield Chamber of Commerce Tourism and Conventions Committee met at 7 a.m. with W. W. Swarin as chair. They announced a May 17 18 Tourism Short Course presented by the West Texas Chamber of Commerce costing $2 per person. The five hour program offers two daily sessions 9 11 30 a.m. and 7 30 10 p.m. Attendees must take one class each day. Raymond Beck said full credit requires daily attendance. George Weiss reported showers and plumbing work at Coleman Park camper facilities.

Open House Set For Eunice Jones

Eunice Jones will be guest of honor at an open house at City Hall Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. He will retire May 1 as city manager after 43 years in that role. City Council members and city employees host the event. friends are invited to visit with Jones during his final day.
