Brownfield men, Smyer resident arrested in drug bust

Three Brownfield men and one Smyer resident were arrested Thursday morning and charged with possession of marijuana. The arrests occurred in two vehicles about one mile north of Semi.

Voters eye early polls in city May 2 election

Early voting has gone well for the May 2 city election. As of Friday more than 115 registered voters had voted early at City Hall 201 W Broadway, 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday through Tuesday April 28. Regular voting is May 2 7 am to 7 pm at City Hall. Mayoral candidates are Floyd Camp Graham Swain and Sam Terry. District races include Districts 1 2 and 3 with Lionel Gonzales unopposed in District 1 Richard E Perry and Daniel Elizardo in District 2 and Ray Cargill Ernest Panda and Bill Harris in District 3.
