Brownfield High Athletes Honor Cabe Knox And Wilkes
Brownfield High School named Karla Cabe Leigh Knox and Brentt Wilkes as the top all around athletes for 1980 81 at the annual banquet in the school commons. Cabe and Knox were runner ups in District 1 AAAA girls doubles tennis and shared Miss Cub honors. Wilkes received Mr Cub from athletics director Joe Granato after earning all district and all south plains football honors and signing to Texas Tech University.

Police Log Shows Slow Brownfield Week With Minor Offenses
Brownfield police reported a slow period from Tuesday noon to Friday noon with seven offenses and no arrests. Incidents included three criminal mischief cases with slashed tires and BB gun damage, one burglary on E Ripley and minor accidents involving a 1973 Penga, 1979 Chevroke, 1968 Chevrolet, 1971 Buick, 1980 Datsun, 1974 Chevrolet, and 1965 Ford. A harassing call, disturbance, and a prowler were also reported.

Recreation Center Project Nears Completion This Summer
