New 15 MPH Speed Limit Signs Erected at Coleman Park

Acting Lt. David Cole of Brownfield Police traffic division says Coleman Park now has seven new signs setting a 15 mile per hour limit at all five entrances around the park including the swimming pool and parking lot. He notes the season’s camps and events will increase use and urges public cooperation as officers enforce the limit to prevent accidents.

Perez Opens New Service Station at Tahoka Road

Herbert Perez announces the opening of a new Perez Finn McKinney Oil service station in completed facilities at 301 Tahoka Road with Perez as manager. He previously ran a station at Lubbock and Tahoka and has four years in Brownfield plus many years in the business. The Perenz family includes Mrs. Perez and children Rosa 16 Herbert 11 and Norma 12.

Drug education talk warns students about marijuana and narcotics

Lieutenant David Cole spoke at Middle School on drug abuse dangers and legal penalties. He described three drug types, showed paraphernalia and explained how marijuana is processed and sold, warning that use can lead to felony charges and loss of citizenship rights.

City Council Swears In Members Turbine Engine Bid Decided

Practice Begins Monday Evening for Little League

Drafting for Little League completed in the corporation courtroom. Over three hundred boys aged 8 through 12 will start practices Monday at various sites. Teams are in Pee-Wee Minor and Major leagues with rosters and managers listed for Razorbacks Frogs Raiders Longhorns Aggies Bears.
