A record 7 562 plates had been sold by Tuesday including 5 117 passenger cars 1 398 commercial vehicles and 1 056 farm trucks. About 5 225 tags were sold by March 31 1963. Three Positions To Be Filled In Brownfield CISD Election
Voters in Brownfield Consolidated Independent School District will elect three board members at large on Saturday. Incumbents Billie Moore and James Thurman seek Place 1 and 2 with no opposition. Place 3 is contested by Bill R. Davis and John McFarland. Davis is a local businessman and church member. McFarland and his wife reside on Route 20 with two children in district schools. The poll hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the County School Superintendent office in the Terry County Courthouse.

Commerce convention set for April in Odessa Lincol n Hotel
Local Commerce's annual convention is scheduled for April 11 at the Lincoln Hotel in Odessa with a noon luncheon April 1 featuring Governor John Connally. Directors are urged to attend all or part of the event. Lilly praised the program as outstanding and presented the WTCC Agriculture Committee Report noting a favorable cotton acreage allotment for Terry County. The chamber will send thanks to Love Miller for securing the increased allotment and will hold a Texas Division Highway 385 Association meeting April 25 at Brown Field Country Club. The Highway 82 special report will appear in the May New Mexico Magazine.
