Highway Tragedy Kills Two on Franz Road
Two teens, Clayton Franz 19 and Michael Dugas 15, died in a Friday afternoon crash on Franz Road near Katy Fort Bend Intersection. Walter Coop 53, partly at fault, received charges of failure to yield and two counts of second degree negligent homicide. A second similar crash occurred earlier that week involving Mrs Lindsey and Mrs Robertson.

Katy Schools Begin 1969 70 Term Monday
The Katy ISD will start the 1969 70 school year on Monday September 8 at 8 30 am with about 1650 pupils enrolled. Classes run 8 30 am to 3 31 pm first day and bus routes remain as last year. Lunch prices stay at 15 and 45 cents for respective grades.
