Tri County Implement Company Opening Slated for Next Thursday

Tri County Implement Co of Katy, Case dealers, plans its opening Thursday May 1. The remodeled showroom and offices feature turquoise and desert sunset colors. General manager H R Ferguson announced new Case tractors and machinery on display alongside Goodyear tire displays. A guest registry with attendance gifts will welcome visitors.

Katy Scouts 209 to Sponsor Barbecue Fundraiser

Scout Troop 209 of Katy hosts a noon barbecue on Saturday June 4 at the VFW park to raise funds for a local Scout Camp. Plate price is $1.00 and includes all you can eat and a drink per Scoutmaster Geo Myers. The troop, aided by Clyde Nelson who donated land, plans a camp house and fireplaces and will camp at Camp Strake in June 1925 with Assistant Scoutmaster Joe Stanwood. There are 16 boys ages 11 to 14.

Monigold and Gregory Named All American Volleyballers

Johnell Monigold and her spiker Carolyn Gregory of Needville, Red Shield Volleyball, were selected on the women's All American team Sunday in Oklahoma City. The California squad won the national championships with Red Shield finishing second.

Katy Alumni Plans 25th Anniversary Reunion Event

Katy High School alumni gather for the 25th anniversary of the class of 1930. The Katy Alumni Assn will meet at the school on Saturday evening June 4 to honor the 1930 graduates. Entourage includes organizers Melbert Schlipf and Ramona Stockwick Bains.

Bill Cardiff is the new Post Commander for the Floyd E Breedlove Post V F W. He was elected at the meeting last Tuesday evening. Other officers include Ed Davis as Senior Vice Commander O N England Jr as Junior Vice Commander Ralph England as Quartermaster Van Scroggins three year trustee George McNeil Surgeon A D Flowers chaplain. Apated officers include Postjutant Elvy Mathis Service Officer Julius Polk and Public Relations Officer Joe Moore John Cardiff and Barker Mahler are trustees. The Post has purchased ten rifles for use in military drills parades and funerals.

Pattison Scouts Plan Cemetery Cleanup Project

Pattison Scout Troop 322 will spend next Saturday cleaning Pattison Cemetery in a Good Turn project. Ten boys will tackle sheds weeds and ground leveling with help from anyone willing to participate, organized by scoutmaster Geo Pattison.

Softball Teams Forming in Katy Area Youth leagues

Ham Dinner Sunday to Benefit Brookshire Church

The Altar Society of the Sacred Heart Parish Brookshire will host a ham dinner Sunday May 22 in the Brookshire School Cafeteria from 12 noon to 2 PM. Proceeds go to the building fund. meals cost 1 dollar with coffee or soda 5 cents and pie or cake 10 cents. Tickets available from parish members or at the cafeteria.
