The Brookshire Board of Stewards met June 9 with 17 members at the Baines home. Officers elected were Minnie Baines chairwoman F D Cooper secretary G T Shearer treasurer Geo Rheman Jr choir director Mrs Lester Williams church pianist Mrs Milton Smidth. The meeting closed with a prayer by Rev G Z Sadler. Mrs R E Jones and daughter shopped in Houston Friday.

Mrs. Annie Deisek Mikeska 81 Dies at Sealy Hospital
Mrs. Annie Deisek Mikeska aged 81 died June 5 1947 at Sealy hospital after long illness. She lived with daughter Mrs. John Kodrek and is survived by five daughters five sons twenty five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at Brookshire Methodist church with burial at Pattison Methodist Cemetery. Muske and Son directed. Pallbearers were Leon Sturm Louis Sturm Howard Perez Johnny Kocurek Martin Habacek Jr Frankie Mikeska.
