The Katy Little League will crown three Queens for the Minor Major and Senior Leagues this Friday June 2. Miss Totsy Nelson returns to crown LG7 queens for Minor and Major at 7 30 pm at Katy II Tark. Senior queen crowned by winning team manager at 7 0 pm at Bovil back Junior High. All teams in uniform. voting deadline six o’clock for favorite team’s queen.

City of Katy Awards Sewer Line Contract to Houston Firm
At a special Katy City Commission meeting a water and sewer contract was awarded to Joe Collins Construction Company of Houston for 6576 dollars. The three phase project covers water line extensions on Ricelanu Terrace and Roberts Street Ave B and a sewer line to Katy Community Church. Work begins immediately. Residents south of Highway Blvd have applied for sewer service. Mayor and aldermen praised the strong response. A housing program representative spoke of urban development aims, and parents were urged to keep children away from a fogging machine used for mosquito control due to hazard from drivers not seeing them.

Lt. Roy Wiesner was reported in critical condition after an auto accident this past Sunday. His wife Marsha, treated for cuts and bruises, said the baby was unhurt and Roy was later moved by helicopter to a larger hospital in Wurzburg Germany.
