Daily hours 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Saturday June 12 featuring oilfield units hearses ambulances refrigerator vans self loaders package delivery heavy duty tractor and trailer combinations school buses and more.

Mrs. Wiesner Earns B S Degree at University of Houston

Mrs Effie Quinn Wiesner received her B S degree from the University of Houston this week. Saturday and summer study aided her progress as she earned the credential. Family visitors from Fairbanks and local relatives joined in notes of vacation snapshots and casual dining.

Sisti Hurls Three Hitter Against Fulshear

The Katy Gas Plant beat Fulshear 5 to 2 in a Tuesday night game. Sisti struck out 10 with three walks and three hits allowed while coining a four run first inning. Fulshear scored in the sixth and seventh but could not overcome the early deficit.

Business and Professional Women Hold May Picnic

The Business and Professional Women club met May 26 at San Feline Park with ten members attending a wiener roast. The next regular meeting is set for June 9 at Mrs Helen Saundee’s home and all members are urged to attend.

Katy C. of C. To Resume Membership Drive

Katy Chamber of Commerce directors met at J. E. Watson home on Friday May 28. Members present included Ray B. Woods W. J. Dube G. M. Hutsell J. E. Watson and T. J. Heinemeier. Charter form and by laws were shown. secretary to amend the charter application for Attorney General approval. About twenty paid members reported. Membership drive to resume and conclude in the next two weeks.

Mrs. England Installed as Worthy Matron in Brookshire Chapter

Brookshire Chapter No 652 Order of the Eastern Star held an May 31 installation of officers. Mrs Florence England became Worthy Matron with Mrs Nettie Mayes of Houston as installing officer and a robed slate of officers named including Mrs Marjorie Poorman as Associate Matron and Mrs Isabel Seidel as Secretary. A post ceremony program featured songs, a Past Matron pin for Miss Eudora Fraser, and refreshments for members and guests.

Brookshire Bible School Plans Three Programs

The Brookshire Methodist Church announces a Junior and Junior-O program with Wor ship led by Mrs. Fred Weisner. Primary Discovering the Lands of the Bible directed by Fay Cooper. Kindergarten Happy Time led by Miss Billie Martin and Mrs. Clara McCauley. Music by Mrs. Lester Williams. Classes start Monday June 7 for 10 days from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m. A religious picture will be shown Sunday at 8 p.m. Public invited.

Vacation Church School Parade Opens Summer Program

Katy Methodist and Apostolic Churches join Baptist Church for a Friday parade marking the start of Vacation Church Schools. Registration at 8:45 with refreshments, then two weeks of classes on Monday Wednesday and Friday at 8:45 for ages four to junior high. Courses include Our Happy World, Happy Times In Our Church, The Bible Goes Around the World, and Exploring the Bible With Intermediates.

Mr. and Mrs. Campbell and children arrived from Hobbs for a visit with relatives. Norwood Cooper plans a six week summer course at John Tarleton after a weekend at home. Mrs. Jones and Mrs. Schulte recoveries noted at Sealy hospital. Florida visitors Lydia Shearer Tibke and Betsie Berger visited. Grady received Florida oranges. Brookshire Post Office adds 108 new boxes issued first come, first served. Quilter and family from Texas City visited Bert Gassner’s family. Quilter installed new doors and windows at Sacred Heart Catholic front.
