Douglas Whatley reports thirty three dogs vaccinated last Saturday in Pattison. Many dogs were not brought, so an additional vaccination session is planned for Saturday morning June 38 between 8:30 and 12:00 at the Pattison school workshop. A minimum fee will cover expenses per W. C. Norris.
City of Brookshire now owns the waterworks effective June 1 as stated by George Harrison. Harrison has supplied Brookshire water for twenty years and notes all bills through May are due.
The Brookshire PTA Study Club met in the closing session at the home of Mrs. Andrew Highrabedian on May 16, 1950. Mrs. Lester Williams spoke on Do Manners Count concluding that good manners express friendliness and consideration for others. Fourteen members received certificates for hours spent studying parent teacher relations. Members praised the benefit of the study and association. Mrs. Highrabedian provided a sandwich and cold drinks.
J W Martin announces candidacy for re election as constable in Pct 5. He delayed his bid previously but now plans to serve a full two year term and asks for the voters support.
Edna Irene Lapham 49 Route 2 Box 138A Waller died 8:45 p.m. Sunday in a Houston hospital after 26 years with Humble Oil. Survived by husband George F. Lapham mother Mrs F E Waldridge sister Mrs Evelyn Jones. Services 2 p.m. Tuesday Heights Funeral Home with burial Forest Park Cemetery. Pallbearers listed.
Daniel Leroy Svach aged 17 months drowned in a horse trough at the Bennie Miller farm on a Thursday afternoon May 25. The child was recovered and taken to Brookshire where a Resuscitator failed after one hour and forty five minutes. Survivors include parents Ed and Mrs Svach sister Judy La Verne Svach and grandparents Albert Mitcham Earnestine Svach. Funeral at Bennie Miller home with Rev. Lee Miller officiating, interment Pattison cemetery.
Mrs. Cornelia Bains reopens the Public Drug Store Saturday in Brookshire at the old location. Clarke's Pharmacy occupied the building the past year. The store displays gifts drugs and cosmetics on new white shelves and offers ice cream malted milks sundaes and soft drinks.
Rice farmers hire Plane Service for top dressing using Vertigreen and 16-2-0 fertilizers. Gene Hoyt flooded a 40 acre field for planting by plane earlier this year and reports a good stand. David Southard spread 2-4-0 to weed rice fields. Boynton Flying Service works with Katy Feed Store, keeping planes stationed in Katy for quick service.
The 4 H Booster Chicken Barbecue at the Fair Grounds drew 250 club members and friends for a fundraiser supporting Waller County 4-H youths. Miss Ogg chaired the event praising volunteers and noting an educational trip to Austin and nearby Cavern and Buc Dam on July 26 27 28 as a rewards program for qualified members.
Mrs Lizzie Garrett remains at her daughter Mrs H E K Romack’s residence in Katy where she has been very ill but is now as well as can be expected.
Mrs Warren Cooper will be installed as Worthy Matron of the Sealy Chapter No 2850, B S, on Friday night June 2. Officers to be installed include Worthy Patron Johnie Rikard and associate matron Ruby Hinze. All Eastern Stars invited. event will be a closed chapter due to illness.
A slide titled Beyond Our Own Horizons will be shown at Christ Lutheran Church Pattison Sunday at 9 am. The display highlights mission work in foreign countries and invites all to attend.

The Brookshire Methodist group lists delegates for the week session including Mr. R. C. Waldrip and Mr. George Rheman Sr. with Mrs. Rheman as lay delegate. Larry M. Stokes also present. Additional names include Albert Thompson and Porwoo Blackwell among other attendees.
Katy High School alumni plan their annual meeting at the Katy High School auditorium on Saturday June 3 at 8 p.m. President Mrs. Howard Pennington and secretary Edna Lusk lead the group with the 1940 class chaired by Mrs. W C Stockdick Jr. All graduates and spouses are invited.
The Sealy American Legion Post announces a Jr baseball team tryout led by Mr Vernon Madden at the Sealy Ball Field this Sunday. Open to any boy not yet 16 before January 1 1950 from Brookshire Katy or Pattison. Rheman Motor Co provides grey suits with gold and blue trim for the team.
The Brookshire Lions Club handles ditch spraying citywide with equipment supplied by Roy Muske Guy Pattison Jr and England Bras assisting in the effort.
Katy Mayor Arthur Miller joined Harris County mayors on the Galena Park side of the Ship Channel for the $8,000,000 Washburn Tunnel opening ceremony on May 27. Roy Hofheinz spoke, ribbons were cut, guests rode through the tunnel to Pasadena, met by Glen McCarthy and Lum Abner, with Fred Gray among Pasadena Chamber officials. The event ended with a barbecue at the Texas Co Country Club.
Mrs. Odie Dozier and Mrs. Ruby McDaniel were in Brenham on Thursday. The notice suggests clipping ball club schedules and posting them as a reference throughout the summer.

He and wife recently moved to a Brookshire home. he leads local Lions committees funding a fire truck and a Resuscitator. president of Texas Alfalfa Dehydrators Association. member of Brookshire Masonic Lodge Shriner and Waller Co 4-H Booster Club.
Mrs Taylor presents her tap and ballet pupils in a recital at the Katy Auditorium on Thursday at 8 oclock. The first shire Lions Club softball game in Brookshire ended Pattison 12 Waller 9. Mikeska fanned 10 for Pattison while Smith struck out 2 for Waller. Pattison committed 6 errors to Waller 5. game lasted 1 hour 36 minutes with umpires Moebes Stephan Youngblood. Next game set for Friday June 2 between W F W and Katy. crowd urged to attend.
