Pattison to Attend Austin Special Session With Family

Rep James Pattison and Mrs Pattison plus Terry head to Austin for the special session opening January 30. The legislature will address appropriations for state institutions and Pattison has pushed to establish a board. He plans to urge the Agriculture Committee to seek a Washington remedy allowing counties to redistribute cotton acreage.

Pattison Methodist Church Nears Completion of Building Program

Mrs. Corrie P. Haskew of Houston donated 5000 dollars to Pattison Methodist Church for a near finished expansion. The church gained twelve feet, three Sunday School rooms two restrooms and a new belfry. Pattison family members fund a pulpit and altar service in memory of George M. Pattison and his wife. Dedication will follow completion with services currently held in Pattison School.

Four days remain for poll tax payments after a failed abolition vote. Miller Motor Co. in Katy offers poll tax receipts and will issue them to residents of Wailer County who sign a request and pay the fee in advance. Mrs. Nettie Sandel Dies After Illness in St Mathews

Mrs. Nettie Sandel died early Sunday at her home in St Mathews 5% Carolina after a 10 month illness. Her son J M Sandel 2nd wife attended the services. Surviving are her husband and a son and daughter of St Mathew.
