Wild Game Dinners Feed Veterans Across Houston Temple Brooke
Five thousand served at Houston and Temple VA hospitals and Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio celebrated their annual wild game dinner last week. VFW members visited bedsides, improvised entertainment, and praised the brave veterans including WWII and Korean War wounded, amputees, and the elderly while sharing a feast of ducks geese deer and elk.

Graveside services were held for infant Byron Lyn Wilpitz, son of Mr and Mrs Ernest Allen Wilpitz, of 2211 B 17 St Lubbock. Dr F J White officiated at Babyland Tech Memorial Cemetery. City officials Schwab and Meitzen from the Fire Insurance Rating Department said Katy’s firefighting facilities are adequate but require 1000 feet of 214 inch hose immediately. The department is organized and must maintain twenty members meeting four hours monthly. They recommended purchasing a larger pumper in the future.
