William Hammond, former Barker resident, died at 12 15 a m December 24 in a Nava sota hospital and was buried in Addicks Cemetery. Survived by children Helen Wilcox Bryan Grace Weinmann Katy Sadie Liere Hockley Madeline Shields Hockley W T Hammond Sealy Asher Hammond Barker and brother John Hammond Crystal City. Visiting in J I Hatching home over holidays were daughters John Jones Dallas and Char lene Hutching Brownsville along with other relatives. Millers Win Yale Contest at Brenham
The Ollie Millers home received a silver cup for best Christmas decorations in Brenham. The house, lit with lights in every window and featuring a large Santa figure, won after a Fortnightly Club art department sponsored contest. Hundreds of homes joined in Christmas light displays.
