The Ralph J. Bunche School dedication in Brookshire will occur Sunday February 4 1951 after its completion of the new colored school building. Principal is Joel Harris. A December 21 1950 Christmas Pageant titled The Birth of Christ was staged by students under Rosemary B Moore with a large cast including Frankie Mobley Alfred Sams Naomi Abernathy and many others.

J D Newcomb aged 70 died December 15. He ran a Hempstead furniture business since 1934 and also owned a Bellville store since last October. Funeral services were held in Hempstead. Survivors include his wife two sons Tony and Walter both of Hempstead and four daughters.
