Times Editor to Publish and Manage Paper Daily

Oil Well on Rhemann Farm Hits Rock at 800 Feet

Work on the C J Rhemann farm oil well reached rock at about eight hundred feet. Drilling was slowed as pipe and equipment encountered harder formations. No fires or spills are noted in the brief report.

Typhus Fever Reported After Illness In Houston

Abdr w Highrabedian was taken to a Houston hospital Monday night after several days of illness. Blood tests confirmed doctors diagnosed typhus fever.

Union A. L. Tompkins of Houston spent the weekend with his mother Mrs Elise Tompkins. Delly Hampton hosted Mr Harris of Kickapoo on business. The Greenwood place house was completed and rented to the O T Nelean family of Burlington. Rev Cofer led his regular Shiloh church appointment with Mrs Cofer. J D Robertson of Myrtle Grove visited and attended Shiloh Church Sunday night. Iva Tompkins visited here Sunday. Mr and Mrs Boyd Haney of Myrtle Grove visited Mr and Mrs E E Leverkuhn last week. Shiloh Church pastors received pounding for Christmas. Wallar Schools closed for holidays. Men from here attended Hempstead and Waller farmers meeting called by the County agent.
