Paving Contracts To Be Let For Highway 73
Four contracts for paving sections of Highway 73 from Katy to Brookshire, Brookshire to the Brazos River, Sealy to the Bernard River, and Bernard River to Columbus will be let in Austin on December 19. When the November 21 section Sealy to Brazos River is added, the entire Columbus to Houston route will be paved and open to traffic.

Editor Terrell Suffering Typhoid. Paper Delayed
Due to editor Terrell's serious illness with typhoid fever, the newspaper did not publish last week. He has been dangerously ill since leaving Brookshire nearly three weeks ago. His fever has abated and he is improved, but doctors say it may be three months before he can work again.

Mrs. Lizzie Gosteenik Buried In Waller Funeral
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Waller for Mrs. Lizzie Gosteenik aged 59 who died Sunday afternoon at her home north of Waller from a heart attack. The Catholic Church burial followed at the local Catholic Cemetery. Survived by husband Frank Gosteenik Sr and five sons John Lewis of Waller Tony Joe of Houston and Frank Jr of Brookshire.
