Santa Claus Delivers Toys to Brookshire Children
Santa Claus will visit Brookshire on Christmas Eve to distribute hundreds of toys to about 100 needy children. Mrs. T. L. Poland organized the Toys for Toys drive with Brookshire Firemen repairing, painting, and dressing dolls at the fire station. Special thanks to B. W. Henneke for donating a pickup full of new toys.

Freeman Couple Celebrates 60th Wedding Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Freeman observed their sixtieth anniversary with an informal reception at the Jesse Freeman home in Katy. The couple, married December 11, 1895 in Plano, Texas, have twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Out of town guests included relatives from Houston, Sealy, La Marque and Gonzales.

Funeral Services Held Tuesday For Mrs. Eva Pauli
Funeral services for Mrs. Eva C. Pauli, former Katy resident, were held Tuesday at West University Baptist Church with Rev. Ray V. Mayfield officiating. She died Sunday night in a Houston hospital. Survivors include daughter Lois Cox and grandson John Cox of Houston, sisters Elizabeth Chick of London Ontario and Florence Ney of Stratford Ontario, and brother George Bariamer of Beamsville Ontario. The Pauli family moved to Katy in 1918 and "Pauli Home" remained in the family until 1947. Mrs. Pauli belonged to Katy Baptist Church and the WMS. She also helped found the Katy Literary Club.

Twelve Katy High School Band members earned All-District honors at the Rosenberg event. Pattison FFA Chapter Profits From Barbecue Event
Pattison FFA Chapter cleared 165.66 from a Tuesday barbecue and small events. The chicken barbecue grossed 257.50 with a 204.11 profit, and about 275 people were served, marking the chapter's largest and most profitable project to date.
