City officials imposed a strict one hour parking rule and added deputies to enforce it. A traffic expert from the State Capitol reviewed zoning and related issues, spending an entire afternoon with officials. Upon leaving, the expert found an overtime parking ticket on his car but did not ask for remediation.
The Methodist of Katy nears the end of a campaign to retire church debt. About twenty seven hundred fifty dollars remains to be raised by December 31. Bishop A Frank Smith of Houston will preach on the 31st and dedicate the educational building with aid from Dr Steward Clendenin the district superintendent. Pastor Derwood Blackwell thanks contributors as gifts of all sizes are sought.
Norwood's Jewelry marks its third anniversary with the Dec 17 event. Owner Norwood Cooper, now in Katy across from the Katy Post Office, showcases watches, silver, fine jewelry and costumes. Cooper belongs to the Texas Watchmaker's Association and the Austin Watch Makers Guild.
In the Junction area last Wednesday hunters Carl Schlipf Ernest Bishop Cecil Beckendorff and A B De Thompson pursued game. Schlipf landed an eight point buck noted for a very large horn spread.
