Lions Rotary Christmas Party Set For Tuesday Night

The Brookshire Lions Club and Katy Rotary Club host a ladies night Christmas party on Tuesday December 14 at 7 30 p m at Club Rendezvous Sealy. Each guest brings a gender matched gift under one dollar and a fine program is planned for the community gathering.

Brookshire Methodist Revival Closes Sunday Services

The Brookshire Methodist revival ended Sunday with strong attendance. Rev and Mrs Weaver closed the services Sunday evening. Rev G A O Quinn, pastor of the Baptist church, joined to allow his congregation to attend. Three new members were added and attendees reported a fine meeting.

Christianson Equipment Co Undergoing Major Repairs in Katy

The Christianson Equipment Company in Katy is undergoing extensive remodeling led by manager R E Mellroy. A 40 by 60 foot half barrel structure south of the building will form a new repair shop with two large wash racks. The front is renovated with two display windows and a new door for Massey Harris equipment. The 100 by 40 foot building now houses office and doubled parts department. Partners Mellroy and Leonard Waggoner, plus staff J W Collins, Vern Bearden, Adam Harris, and others, are employed.

Chicken Noodle Supper Planned by Lutheran Ladies Aid

The Lutheran Ladies Aid hosts a chicken noodle supper Friday December 10th at the Old Gym serving from 6 o'clock. An accompanying sale features handmade crafts and cakes with proceeds benefiting the organ fund.

Pattison Home Demonstration Notes Dinner and Party

A turkey dinner will be held Friday at Hempstead for the Council and Home Demonstration Club members. A dress revue follows dinner with prizes for the club entering the most dresses. The Christmas party is Thursday December 16 in the school cafeteria. Each member brings a hand made gift.

Brookshire Motor Co. Undergoes remodeling and expansion

J. C. Day owner of Brookshire Motor Co. has bought the building from P. H. Donigan and closed in the east side for an office and parts department. The building has been painted white and Day plans to finish showroom floors and remodel the front in the near future.

Howard Pennington Joins Magnolia Bulk Station Team

Howard Pennington, now with Magnolia Bulk Station in Katy as of December 1, is a former Harris County Implement Company representative for seven years. He spent three and a half years in the Army during World War II. His wife Beulah Kathryn Morton Pennington will assist in the office.

Modern Colored Cafe Under Construction In Katy

Mr. V. D. Avera is constructing two buildings 30 by 50 feet on the south block of B Street Katy. The building will be leased for a modern colored restaurant or cafeteria under colored management. Opening date to be announced in this paper.

District 66 B schedule lists Katy hosting and visiting teams from January to February including Missouri City Sugar Land Spring Branch and Sealy with a potential playoff on February 18. The district champion must be certified February 19. Miss Sue Eppes arrives from Freestone to teach 29 first and second graders at Brookshire School. Mrs. T. J. Tally, from the United Gas Station area, handles 24 third and fourth graders with training from S. H. I. T. C. and prior experience in Liberty, Cleveland, and Katy. Mrs. E. C. Whitley Jr., teaching fifth and sixth grades, holds a B A from the University of Alabama and has supervised girls recreation and civic club work.
