The Houston Press editor Mero Foster is praised for exposing political corruption in Texas. The piece recalls his fight to root out a major political machine and notes Houston’s city election adds to his reputation as a watchdog. It warns of looming clashes as Congress and Texas legislature convene.
W R Schumacher died Thursday morning after a two week illness at a Houston Methodist hospital. Local undertaker A H Muske left for Houston to bring the body to the Schumacher home near Pattison. Funeral arrangements had not yet been made.
A Ford driven by Robert Lee McCauley with Ernest Henry and several passengers crashed after dark near Houston when a Negro driver went on the wrong side. A following Chevrolet struck the cars, causing heavy damage but minor injuries to all aboard. Adam Bijbijian and family visited Houston Sunday.
A Brookshire Route 1 roundup details social visits and family travel. Residents and guests including Frank Gregor J Gregor Emil Gaidosik and many others spent Thanksgiving and weekends with relatives in Brookshire Bellville Crosby and Houston.
On Wednesday night November 28 a surprise party honored Mrs. Wm. Ebel on her 70th birthday hosted by her children and friends. Guests included T. A. Activities included card games pinning the tail on the donkey and punch board tricks with posters sandwiches cake and coffee served.
Edward Bemus is back home after spending a few days with friends at Addicks.

Tax Collector WT Sartaio urges car owners to obtain 1929 license plates early. Mail orders require nine cents postage since the State Highway Commission does not cover plate postage from license funds. Hempstead tax office notes this policy.
