Dalton-Cooper Wedding Becomes City Highlight
One of the prettiest weddings in our city occurred Saturday night August 10 at 8 30 at the Methodist Church. Elbert Dalton formerly of San Marcus now in the US Army married Lois Cooper daughter of Mr and Mrs W D Cooper Brookshire’s popular young lady. Reverend F H Morgan officiated as the church adorned in National colors and guests filled the space. Mary Helen Bains cousin of the bride sang I Love You with piano by Jno Harris. The bridal party entered to Lohengrin.

Salvation Army War Fund Over Subscribed
The War Fund solicitation led by Chairman W F Donald was successfully subscribed. Brookshire raised 195 dollars plus 40 more for the Council of Defense, yielding a total of 247.50 dollars by Saturday night, placing Brookshire over the top. Funds henceforth for war purposes will be directed by the County Council of Defense with Rev. F H Morgan as secretary.

Railroad Man Seriously Hurt In Head Injury
Willie Campbelle of Cat Spring fell from a motor car of the M. E. and T line during a work run last Monday morning. He struck his head on the rail, crushing his skull, and was taken to a Dallas sanitarium after initial aid from Chas Kellner. Campbelle supports a family at Cut Springs.
