In Waller county a large posse and bloodhounds searched for a suspect after Elsie Jones age 22 was found murdered near Brookshire. Her body showed four head wounds from a heavy instrument and lay by a creek edge after she rode a mule out to round up cows Tuesday evening. Her family had searched all night before dawn discovered her body.

Burial was beside her husband in Frelsburg Cemetery near New Ulm. Tenderest sympathy is extended to the bereaved.
