Henry of Howns tomompleted a deal with Texas Seaboard Oil Co of Dallas to sink a test 2000 feet north and west of the B Schwarz 900 acre tract corner. Drill to Corinroe land where Montgomery County production exists, spud by August 4. Also Danciger Oil and Refining Co of Fort Worth with Louis Franky to drill on A Blumberg tract in John Baker league, spud by August 16, depth not over 6000 feet. Two leases filed between E G Nicar, J J Perry, Ernest Lawrence for tests on or before Oct 3 in Harper Beards surveys. Maximum depth 4000 feet.

Funeral services for Misa Mollie Cooke, a member of a prominent Waller County family and longtime Austin resident, were held at the old family home in Howth on Monday. She died in Austin Saturday. Burial was in Salem Cemetery. She is survived by three siblings Annie, Sallie and Cooke, all of Austin.

Bond debt reduced for Road District No. 1 in Texas
County Judge A B Anderson announced the Board of County and District Road Indebtedness in Austin allowed the 1916 bond issue to participate in the County and Road District Highway fund. The issue, used to rebuild the Brazos river bridge between Bellville and Hempstead, is now reduced by 24000 dollars. Road District No. 5 bonds show 7000 due, 1000 securities, and 2312.69 in sinking fund.
