As the 1939 World’s Fair nears its April 30 opening, New York readies to host 15 million visitors. City crews spruce hotels, theatres, and public buildings while Broadway diversions join Fair amusements. The Amusement Area features a Billy Rose show with Eleanor Holm, a 10,000 seat theatre, water curtain, and 300 dancers.
