Last Friday residents returning from Kosciusko included Wesson and Lunenberger families, with newcomers renting the Palace Hotel as a boarding house. A mill worker from New Bedford faced arrest over a pistol, and eighteen New Bedford men were fined or detained for drunken disorderly conduct while beer arrived from New Orleans. Mayor Bridewell warned newcomers to obey the law and keep peace as mills operate.
