Death of Judge Hiram Cassedy at His Home
The city mourns the death of Judge Hiram Cassedy who died last Sunday afternoon after a long illness. A large funeral procession proceeded to Rosehill Cemetery with pallbearers J. O. Cooke R. N. Miller J. T. Butler Thos. Brady Jr. W. M. Wroten and Charles Heuck. Born July 4 1846 in Franklin County Mississippi Cassedy served in the Fourth Mississippi Cavalry under Gen. Forrest, was captured near the end of the war, studied law, and rose to prominence as a respected jurist in Mississippi.
