Mrs Carol Volpe Dies in Elmhurst
Mrs Carol Volpe formerly of Brookfield died at Elmhurst hospital on Sept 6 after an appendectomy. Her remains were cremated at Acacia Park cemetery on Sept 9. The Volpes once owned a cleaning business on Ogden Ave in Congress Park. They later moved to Arlington Heights after Mr Volpe completed military service.

Scouts of Troop and Pack 59 held a family style picnic Sept 14 in Cantigny Woods south of LaGrange under pleasant skies and a brisk wind. A Cubs versus Scouts baseball game thrilled many despite a loss, while Ruth Fox showcased a kitchen utensil throwing display. The tug of war favored the cubs and dads, and a weiner roast capped the evening as the group vowed to make the outing an annual affair.
