The West Suburban Symphony will open its 1489 con Sunday afternoon in the Lyons Township High School auditorium LaGrange. Conductor Kurt Schulte says next Sunday's concert will be more refined and balanced with a larger orchestra. The program includes Bach in memory of Dun can Wiedemann who founded the orchestra last year. After intermission Mascagni's Prelude to Cavalleria Rusticana features Maude Key Shelton soprano. Final act features Suk or Suppes The Beautiful Galathea overture and Hesmer's Southern Rhapsody. The ensemble, sponsored by the West Suburban YMCA, operates with its own administration and treasury.
