The ceremony for Rose Aichinger and Frank C. Linhart took place at Rev Lanes home in Oak Park on Saturday February 22. Rose wore a pink suit with a bilge hat and orchids, and was given in marriage by her father John Aichinger. Olga Leisacek of Chicago served as maid of honor and wore a red suit with white corsage. Best man was Bacaseow of Brookfield. About 50 guests dined at the Chateau in Lyons before a weeklong honeymoon. The couple will live with the groom's parents in Brookfield. Rose is a Kominsky Morton high school graduate now employed by the Cicero telephone company. Frank is an A B high school graduate, with International Harvester, and served three years in the Seabees during the war.
AJ qualified GI students with dependents were urged this week to ensure dependency status is properly recorded to receive the newly approved increased subsistence allowances. The Ti nois Veterans Commission says increases take effect April 1 1948 for full time trainees. proof of dependency must be filed for automatic increases. Veterans with dependents should contact Anthony G Brockmann IVC service officer at 8869 Burlington Brookfield for help submitting required documentary evidence.
The Hollywood Mens club met at the community house last Wednesday with hosts Cookingham and MacPhenxroo. Frank Kanelos spoke on juvenile delinquency and the need for a balanced family life and church involvement while members discussed the topic. A pinging tournament saw Fred Marshall and Labert G. Straad win first prize. Plans were made for an April 28 dinner chaired by Charles Grimm with J Emil Veverka assisting, combining dinner and entertainment for all men.
La Grange Art League hosts a program at Congress Park Church in La Grange starting 2 PM on March 16. Esther Dulfield of Western Springs serves as chairperson with Edna West of LaGrange giving a chalk talk. Other presenters include Lorrayne Usack of Western Springs showing commercial art, Lenora Hertey of LaGrange on water color, Jane Gaye speaking on oit, and Barbara Fagan presenting ceramics.

Board member Mrs. A Kemp Stein oversees affairs while Mrs C R Buckley plays cello, Guy Smith bass horn, and Edward Van Dura violin. The program at Lyons Township High School includes Beethoven Pastoral, Bach Arioso, Svendsen Swedish March, Godard Adagio, Arkansas Traveler, Emperor Waltz, and Bach Mighty Fortress.

Miss Norma Barts, renowned authority on visual education, will address Gross Parent Education Groups at the regular meeting on Friday March 12 at 1 15 p m in the school auditorium. She will demonstrate with a pupil from Gross School as visual education is a new technique with growing popularity. An attendant will care for preschool children and refreshments will be served in the tea room.
The Tartin Fire Girls met at the home of leader Mrs G Hunter on Saturday morning. They planned a theater visit and later a trip to Roosevelt College to view a handiwork exhibit. Pen Pals from Europe will be arranged for those who want to join, with Ann Senter serving as scribe reporter.
A local church, Prook ard Methodist chucel, sponsors a March event with community outreach and guidance. Brookfield YOLT and TOU are noted in connection with the arrangement.
The Chelem club installed its newly elected officers for 1848 at Gladys Behrke’s Sunny Side Avenue home. Jean Anselmo became president with Maurlotce Augustine as vice president Lillian Vilach treasurer Nina Wallace secretary and Margaret Warner Ann Irons and Gail Roberts as trustees. Plans include a Spring card party chaired by Gladys Behrke. Next meeting at Signe Schmidt’s home on Cleveland Avenue. RNA camp will meet March A. fall attendance desired.
The Magnet printed an engagement notice for Marvin Machacek to Charmiaine Karel with a misspelled surname in last week’s paper. Machacek is son of Mrs. Blanche Machacek.
