A major electrical manufacturer operates a furnace that yields up to 800 miles of glass tubing each month. The output supplies sufficient tubing for multiple railhead lamps.
Village collector Anthony Strool will chair a Friday conference with the budget committee to consider salary changes. Strool indicated the Friday meeting may address his pay, noting a possible outside job to supplement income if his salary drops from about 175 dollars monthly to around 74 dollars.
Hollywood Woman's club held a board and business meeting on Friday Feb. 13 at the Hollywood Community House. Lois Mikelson from College Inn Food Products demonstrated 101 Ways to Use Chicken and prepared three dishes awarded to Mrs. J Bjorn, Mrs. Edwinson, and guest Mrs. Joseph Vachta. Ten hostesses included Mrs. Flaherty, Hamel, and Dunn. Garden Club will meet Feb 26 at Mrs Schmitt's home with dessert luncheon.
A Valentine party featured the Women of the Moose at the International Hall with new favorites revealed and plans discussed for a May borany. Attendance prize went to Afli Step and Betty Flanagan chairs the event. next meeting February 27 will be Ritual Chapter night.
Funeral services for Laura Layman wife of the late Rev Franklin were held Saturday February 14 at Runkle Funeral Home Brookfield. She was mother to Harold Mirs Philip Williams William Ralph Merrill B Pipcont Howard Selah Ray H and others.
