Funeral services were held Saturday morning January 31 at the Mansfield Funeral Home for Mrs Anna Stromsky who died at her home on Broadway January 28. Interment was at Bohemian National Cemetery. Surviving are husband Fred ten daughters Ann and Roger nine sons Fred Jr Charles Rudolph three grandchildren Sally Ann Tommy Char lene and Charles a sister Francis Severn and many neighbors express sympathy.
Dr Jutings Bo Nowak a chest specialist will conduct the monthly chest examinations at the Prairie Avenue health center on Friday February 6 from 1 to 5 PM. Public health nurse Mrs Eli Haff assists. Volunteer Mrs Stanley OC Anderson helps at the clinic.
Funeral services for Mrs Anna L Mansfield nee Meyers were held from the chapel of her son James F Mansfield at 3745 Grand Boulevard. Mass was celebrated at St Barbara's Catholic church with Father MacInerris and assisting priests. The service included readings by the Creadon quartet. Born in 1890s in Danzig Germany she came to the United States at age three and married James F Mansfield Sr in 19xx. Surviving are three sons Richard E James F and Joseph C and a daughter Rosalyn Stuenkel.
The Past Grands Club met Monday night at Clara Flynn's home on Grand boulevard. President Ingebore Krause led the business session, followed by games and prizes awarded to Anna Berry Pauline Leonard and Helen Cushman. Phoebe Lender read a letter from Viva Lauferski about life in Korea, which entertained the group. Refreshments by the hostess capped an enjoyable evening.
An engagement announcement notes Barbara Henriksen of Chicago to wed Sydney Fifield of Chicago. The couple plans a January wedding after a shower hosted by Mrs. Barbara Henriksen at 3926 Sunny? Avenue in honor of the bride-to-be.
The group reports a social evening hosted by the Ronald Rooney Cast and chaired by Borman. Attendance praised, with future meetings set for February 9 and 23. Comrade Budde received blood donated by Al Freitag and Harold Kint at Berwyn hospital, and members urged renewal of 1948 dues and recruitment of new members to support veteran programs amid postwar economy cuts.
The American Home Makers Club of Congress Park met at Franklin Orrgy’s home on Tuesday January 2. Plans were set for future meetings and new home making ideas were exchanged. Mrs James MacKay, chairman, will host the next regular monthly meeting on February 1. Costs are invited to attend as the event promises to be very interesting.
The Gross Parent Education Group will meet in the large auditorium of the Gross school on Friday February 13 at 1 15 p m The Red Cross will demonstrate preparing nutritious box lunches for all members of the family Refreshments will be served in the tearoom.
