A wedding occurred Saturday at Brookfield Methodist Church with a double ring ceremony performed by Rev. Vanes PR Rogers. The bride, Evelyn Janen, is the daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph Dimen of 545 Sunnyside.
Evelyn Provencal and Paul Ostby wed at Brookfield with Cyra Ellingson on organ. Evelyn wore a white sharkskin dress, carried a prayer book, and was given in marriage by her father. Best man Elime Provencal. matron of honor Dorothy Provencal in aqua. After a reception for over 100, the couple left for Sugatauk Michigan and will reside in Chicago, Illinois while the groom finishes two years of study at the University of Illinois. Both graduates of RB High School.
Jacqueline Redis and William Cusac were married in LaGrange at the First Cryteational church in a candlelight ceremony officiated by Rev. Melish. The couple, both Lyons Township graduates, celebrated with a reception for 140 at the bride’s home before a weeklong wedding trip to Brainerd Minnesota.
The regular meeting of the V F W auxiliary was held Wednesday August 4 with two good sized attendants despite many on vacation including president Marie La Francis. The meeting was conducted by senior vice president Mildred Bradley. Elsie Smith’s application was accepted and initiation set for September. Fall card party planned for September 11 at 8 p m in National hall Neena Nortier in charge of tickets and Mildred Bradley in charge of awards.
The Women of the Moose meeting Friday Aug 27 will feature a plastic demonstration after the session under Mrs Rose heek and the Mooseheart Alumni committee. Welcome to new Academy of Friendship circle members Fatlerton Berlach Gabrisch Wolf Cockrell and Mae Bigelow joins College of Regents. Bowler registration fees should be submitted at the meeting to complete the list.
Leona Nortier and Blanche Murtagh were chosen as delegate and alternate for the National Encampment at St Louis from Aug 29 to Sept 2. Sympathy is extended to the Edmond Hubka family on the death of Amelia Hubka. The auxiliary held services at the Chapel and attended the funeral. Draping of the charter will occur at the next meeting in Sept.
The wedding of Miss Maris V. Sullivan of Brookfield and Mr. John Spencer Schaus of Itown City Iowa took place August seventh at St Dar bares Catholic church on South pern avenue. The Rev Fahey MelInerney officiated.
R Sullivan wore a aqua dinner gown with colored sequins and a pink carnation corsage. The groom’s mother Mrs Russell Fountain wore a floral gown with white carnations. Photos by James McGrath Jr. followed the ceremony in the church garden. A reception for 200 guests preceded the couple’s Wisconsin honeymoon plan and return to Brookfield, later settling at 9012 West 31st Street.
