The Illinois Indiana interstate match at Donovan Illinois last Saturday ended with Indiana players prevailing. The first annual public sale of registered Hereford cattle by the Tri County Hereford Breeders Association of Jasper, Newton and Pulaski counties was held at the Dunlap and Graves farm in Rensselaer. Fifty five animals averaged about $166 per head, with two animals selling for $400 each. The sale totaled around $8,000, and Indianapolis attorney Mr. Thompson, owner of a stock farm near Ripley, bought 17 head, the largest purchase. Dr. Washburn of Rensselaer bought several head for his Gillam township farm. Most stock went to Pulaski county. A banquet for about 50 stockmen followed at Barnes restaurant.
