Chinese Perfume Use At Social Gatherings
In China guests at dinners and theatre performances are offered small hot towels perfumed with scented water for face and hand cleansing. Scented water is also used in bathing and daily washing. Latin American countries show high demand for perfumery, where a dash of perfume is believed to substitute for a bath and save time and effort.

Lead removal advice for firearms from old text
The article describes using chemically pure nitric acid to dissolve lead in a gun barrel while noting it will not harm the bore unless the weld is diluted. It advises to remove acid by pouring it out, drying the gun, and wiping with a rag soaked in olive oil or cottonseed oil. It warns not to get acid on skin or clothes and to wash off with water followed by weak alkali if contact occurs.
