Train wreck injures mail carrier near crevice
On Tuesday morning a westbound Pennsylvania freight wrecked a mail car near the old George Jenning forts, Baile Foy the carrier was severely injured, left arm broken and two fingers amputated, head bruised. He initially faced possible death but later was expected to recover.

The local telephone exchange saw drops in line activity, Morocco reported similar switchboard disruptions, and two years earlier a comparable event disrupted the big velvet electrical plant causing hours of telegraph and telephone mix ups.

A Leopold of Rensselaer died Wednesday night at age 87 after fifty years as a resident and leading local businessman. Franklin Lane Dies After Mayo Clinic Operation

Old Time Taxes Hit Newton County Farm Story
