Owing to press day and matters at Kentland the Farmres picnic at Alvin Thayers Grove was missed but a 2000 crowd enjoyed the day. A Douglas speech and games plus humorous sketches by Wilbur Cooper and Jack Ulyatt entertained. Winners included Clyde Mallatt in the boys sack race Roscoe Marftt in the men’s sack race Harold Gentry in the prize race and Don Herriman with Luther Nark in the affinity race.

United Brethren Picnic At Luther Myers Grove Aide
Last Friday the United Brethren Sunday Schools of Nawton County held a full day picnic at Luther Myers Grove. Rain sent attendees to town but the event featured Mt. Ayr and Brook Bands, three baseball games, a solo by Mrs. Perry Whaley, readings by Mt. Zion Quartet, and a basket dinner. A permanent organization was elected for next year and proceeds go to a speaker through the Ladies Outing Club. Twentysix members gathered on Thursday, June 16 for meals and entertainment, praising Mr. Ade for the park and leaving with fond memories.
