Passing of a Pioneer in Yakima Obituary
William Foresman, father of the Reporter editor, dies at his son Charles's home in Yakima Washington at ninety near ninety years. Born September 8 1830 in Pickaway County Ohio he helped found the first tile mill in Northern Indiana and aided drainage projects before moving to Lewiston Idaho. Survived by six sons and siblings, his career spanned canal and railroad development and western settlement. Funeral in Lewiston with burial beside his wife. Monday reports Woman's Club day at Fountain Park with a planned program.

Brook To Have Big Live Stock Show In October
Brook will host a major live stock show in Newton County in October. Blooded stock only will compete for prizes as local stock owners form a coalition to pool interests. A three member committee Fred Lyons Howard Myers and L C Lyons was named to raise funds and report at the next meeting held Friday evening at the library.

Farm scaffold collapse injures man near Forestman
George Antclis and his son Charles fell from a scaffold while painting on their east Forestman farm. George broke his leg just below the right hip. he was taken to the hospital at Rensselaer for setting and confinement until healed. son Charles was unharmed.

County Board Accepts Old Tax Schedule Amid Debate

Land Sale Amid Bush Heirs In Washington Township
The 232 acres of land west of the road in Washington township were sold this week to Frank and Ott Herath for 200 dollars an acre. The property, mostly good land with some timber, belonged to Mrs Dowal of Shelday. An 315 acre section east of the road remains titled to a Bush granddaughter and will not be sold soon. Harry Warr, longtime steward of the Bush land, plans to move to town, partner Merlin will manage the remaining land and its improvements while developing new seed corn for the market.
