A Thursday train carried 29 cars of cattle and 10 cars of hogs from Brook, part of a stock buildup caused by a strike. Over twenty cattle cars remain unsent, delaying shipments and costing feeders thousands. The train, secured by H M Lyons, will be run by the railroad with the division superintendent in charge, destined for the yards, value near 120000 dollars.
The play An American Woman at Kentland Theatre drew standing room crowds Monday and Tuesday. It will be reproduced at the same theatre next Monday with reserved seats on sale at the Rexall Store in Kentland Indiana.
Monday May the 3rd 1920 is the last day for paying the first installment of taxes. After that date, any unpaid amounts become delinquent and penalties will be added.

Thomas Porter Dear a resident of this vicinity died at his home in Bradley Wisconsin. The remains were brought to Brook for burial on Wednesday with services at the U B Church at 2 pm officiated by Rev. Borkert. He was brother to Chan Porter and nephew of Mrs. John Gentry. The Harry household has faced sickness with Truce Beagley ill from tonsillitis, then his wife and mother Mrs. W. Harry afflicted. all are improving. County Agent Davis visited Wednesday to advise farmers on oats beekeeping poultry and other farm activities, noting money made from new minor industries as prices rise.
