Coke County to Exhibit at Midwest Exposition in Sweetwater

Coke County plans active participation in the Midwest Exposition at Sweetwater from October 24 to 28 1939. Austin Jordan of Blackwell president of the fair association announces invites to 4 H Club exhibits and urges local residents to join in events. Cash prizes will be awarded to winners of first second and third places in an Old Fiddlers contest and a Jitterbug contest open to Coke and nearby counties.

North Texas 4 H Club and F F A fair set to excel

J A Tidwell carnival rides will join the Exposition midway when the fair opens October 24. Exhibits in 4 H and F F A departments are expected to outdo last year with a 3000 catalogue ready for distribution. Viewing is free with a small parking fee for cars on fair property. A mystery wedding and a Light Crust Doughboys appearance are among the entertainment plans for Sweetwater’s fair.
