Dr Harold G Cooke, veteran Methodist pastor and educator, is appointed president of McMurry College in Bronte Texas. Born in South Dakota and raised near Beaumont, he earned a divinity degree and law license, pastored major churches, and led a church-building program before taking the McMurry post with strong local support.
