The Bronte section notes a bumper crop outlook with favorable rainfall, strong grain prospects, and a dry weather tolerant cotton forecast. It recalls last week’s highway celebration boosting hospitality and neighborliness, stressing cooperation for community welfare and asking if such effort is worthwhile.
P H Daniel of Amarillo named assistant general freight agent for Gulf Colorado and Santa Fe Railway. Native Texan born 1892 in Trent. Began as station helper in 1910, later operator agent at Heman and Frio, Texas. In 1914 joined Panhandle and Santa Fe staff in Amarillo. Recognized as a leading Southwest rate authority.
The Santa Fe Railway offers 61 educational prizes to 4-H Club members across Texas Oklahoma Kansas Missouri Illinois New Mexico Arizona Iowa and more. Winners will tour Chicago for the Sixteenth National Congress of 4-H Clubs next fall. State contest leadership comes from state agricultural college extension officials.
Mr and Mrs Jack Caudle of Hale Center were guests of friends in Bronte for several days after attending the highway celebration last week. They found in Bronte many friends glad to see them again and were pleased with the reunion and good opportunities to visit.
Miss Lottie Ivey visited Mr and Mrs Lester Ash in the latter part of the week at their home in Ma rie.
