Wit Coke County U S D A War Board met January 24 1942 in the County Agent's office to set a date for an educational program and to urge farmers to conserve burlap sacks and wrappings due to wartime imports from India and textile demands. Chairman R B Allen emphasized tire care and repairs to offset shortages and noted potential certificate availability for new tires used in farming. Attendees included R B Allen Harold M Kaute Samuel F Malone Fred Roe and H E Smith.

J A Clift known as Jim Clift died Sunday afternoon in a San Angelo hospital. Interment was Monday at Robert Lee cemetery after services at the Robert Lee Methodist church. Coke county mourns a long time merchant and public figure with many friends.
The H. A. Springer Sunday school class held its monthly social at the Sneads home after a forty-two game. Mr. and Mrs. Brooks Browning helped with arrangements. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Millikin D. K. Glenn T. F. Sims Jr. J. B. Mackey Walter Phillips Alfred Taylor Geo. Thomas Don Edmaston Pete Gentry H. A. Springer and the Bohm family Nell Lowry Iva Bell Linn Edward Rawlings and Vetal Flores.
Mrs W R Phillips of Ozona visits her sisters Mesdames J D Leonard Lewis Sims and W J Gideon and her father W W Lockhart. Both of Mrs Phillips sons are in the service.
Miss Zelda Hamilton of Ballinger sister of Mrs A D Miler was a weekend visitor with her brother James Hamilton while he was in action in Australia.
