The document notes the Bronte Texas post office designation as second class matter at the Bronte facility, entered March 1, 1918, under the act of Congress dated August 12, 1871.
A consumer research survey finds students with bright home lighting usually achieve higher grades, leading to better job prospects after school. The study, conducted by a major advertising agency, surveyed thousands and was shared with H A Springer of West Texas Utilities.
A large family reunion last Sunday at Lake Abilene featured a basket dinner for numerous Ragsdale and Downey relatives. Attendees included Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Shaffer of Wingate, and many others from Guion, Monahans, Odessa, Abilene, Hamlin, Mathis, Mc Camey, Tuscola, Mineral Wells, Blackwell, and surrounding towns.
Claud Hargrave and Ce cil Hargrave of Blackwell along with Mrs. Frank Hargrave s funeral are noted. Edgar and family travel to Arizona for a 50th wedding anniversary. A C Hargrave Jr and family visit from Albuquerque. Burell Montgomery returns from Roscoe hospital. Jim Sliger returns from El Monte California after a visit.
Mr and Mrs John Holland and children of Hico visit relatives. Mr and Mrs Noble Whitaker and son and Mrs Joe Smith and son visit Overton last week.
Mr and Mrs B P Ragsdale of Guion Mrs Tom Ragsdale of Ovala and extended family left Sunday to visit Big Bend country. Joe Wilkins Bronte Mrs Luther Ault and daughter Lowell Blackwell with J C of Sweetwater toured Carlsbad Cavern. Rev W E Moore of Sweetwater holds a meeting at the Church of Christ in Blackwell this week.
